About
I’ve been on your side of this.
I’m the person who likes taking things off other people’s lists. I started on shop floors, running home decor and entertainment visual merchandising in retail. Then I moved into operations work: making processes actually run, and building and maintaining agency pipeline programs through curriculum design. Throughout that, I’ve always enjoyed the process-driven work: clearing off the items on a list and making it look good when it’s done.
Somewhere in that experience I picked up the skills that let me build my own shops online, and manage a couple of close friends’ shops too. As I started out, though, I had no clue where to begin, so I hired designers. I paid for site builders. And every time I came away with something that wasn’t quite the thing in my head, because I couldn’t explain it well enough, or because nobody had the time to get to the heart of it, or because doing it myself meant evenings I didn’t have. Small businesses hit close to home, because I’m running one while I write this.
Why this exists
Why this exists
Every time I paid somebody, I got back something that wasn’t quite it. Sometimes because I couldn’t explain what I wanted well enough. Sometimes because nobody had the time to get to the heart of it. Doing it myself meant evenings I didn’t have. Eventually I learned to build them properly myself, and that is the whole reason this exists.
So the order here runs the other way round. You answer a few questions about the business, and about a week later there’s a real page with your business on it that you can click around, before any money and before any call. You decide after you’ve seen it, not before. That’s how it works, start to finish.
I know what it feels like to hand your business over to someone and get back a website that doesn’t sound like you. This is built so that you find that out while it’s still free to walk away.
Who I build for
Who I build for
Small businesses in the United States. One storefront, or a few items a year made slowly, or a season that books out and then goes quiet. Businesses where the person who owns it is also the person answering the phone.
The list is short on purpose. Kirrby Studio is new. I’d rather start with a small number of businesses I can genuinely look after than a long list I can’t, which is the entire reason the founder seats are capped at all. It isn’t a sales device. It’s the size of the work I can actually do while doing it properly, and when those seats are held, that price is simply gone from that plan.
Being new is not something I’d hide from you. It’s the reason you get to see the website before you pay for it.
Ready to see your mock?
The mock is the easy way to find out whether any of this is for you. A few questions about the business, about four minutes, no card and no account and no call. About a week later there’s a real page you can click around and show to somebody who’ll tell you the truth about it.
If it’s a no, nothing happens. Nothing owed, nothing to cancel, and nobody calls you to ask why.
If what’s left is a question rather than a doubt, the plans are laid out with their prices, and the things people actually ask before they start are answered in the FAQ.
